My mother’s grandmother’s ginger cookies. Addictive and fast.
Ingredients
- 3/4c butter
- 1c dark brown sugar
- 1/4c molasses
- 1.5c flour
- 1/4t salt
- 1/2t soda
- 1/2t each cloves, cinnamon, ginger
Or:
- 2 sticks butter
- 1c sugar
- 1/2c molasses
- 2c flour
- Salt
- 2/3t each cloves, cinnamon, ginger (could be 1t)
- Leavening
Directions
Cream butter with sugar & spices. Add molasses and whip. Add flour with leavening and mix until just combined.
Put small spoonfuls onto cookie sheet and bake at 350 until just barely done. About 12 mins.
These spread a lot and are super soft when they come out of the oven – be wary.
